Great Bear Gift Shop
The Great Bear Gift Shop is attached to the museum and carries traditional arts and crafts made by Aboriginal people from the Sahtu region and greater Northwest Territories. A variety of hand-made items can be purchased such as beaded moose hide moccasins and mukluks, beaded and embroidered moose hide mitts, and original paintings and carvings by well-known local artists such as Peter Lafferty of Fort Good Hope, and Bobby Manuel and Bern Will Brown of Colville Lake.
There’s also an excellent selection of literature with northern themes pertaining to the Aboriginal history and culture of the region, the northern landscape, and a wide selection of children’s books.
